If you are the one who never watched any of the K-dramas, trust me, you need to start watching one. They not only completely engage you but also entertain you for sure.
K-dramas have a multitude of different genres such as romance, comedy, action, historical, mystery and fantasy. While most k-dramas carry a lot of romantic elements and there are different styles & tones.
Korean dramas are popular worldwide because of the story and the excellent quality of production, cinematography, streaming services and subtitles which they offer in multiple languages.
1. Guardian: The lonely and Great God
Synopsis: Kim Shin is a military general during the Goryeo Dynasty who is betrayed by the jealous king he served. When Kim Shin is faced with death instead of honor after fighting a mighty battle, God turns Kim Shin into a goblin instead; He lives as an immortal goblin helping others with his powers in spite of his grieving past. The only way to end his immortality and attain peace is to pull the sword out of his body by the Goblin’s bride.
Ji Eun-Tak is a high school student who is always cheerful and hopeful despite her tragic life. She summons to goblin by chance & their fate begins to twist together. As the lives of Kim Shin, Ji Eun-Tak travel along, a deep story unfolds, letting them know that they are not just strangers who met by chance, but there is a purpose.

2. Descendants of the Sun
Synopsis: It is a story of a captain of special forces who falls in love with a doctor while dealing with a war in the country.

3. I’m not a Robot
Synopsis: This story is about a wealthy man (Min Kyu) who is allergic to people’s touch and that could be fatal if not treated immediately when someone touches. It made him live alone on a few occasions. When he comes out he covers his skin and carries a stick to touch things from distance. Min Kyun thinks of getting a humanoid robot which would be helpful to him. When Jo Ji Ah finds herself in need of money, she takes an opportunity to pretend to be a robot (Aji 3), as the actual robot is not yet ready to be deployed at his house. Ji Ah pretends to be a robot and tries to win Min Kyu’s trust. She starts to fall in love with Min Kyu. Gradually, Kim Min-kyu also falls in love with Jo Ji-ah
He is disturbed by the thought that Jo Ji-ah is a robot. He reboots the Robot, erasing its memory. A professor Hong Baek-gyun replaces Jo Ji-ah with the actual Robot (Aji 3). In an attempt to forget Min Kyu, Jo Ji-Ah leaves the city to work at her aunt’s restaurant. Going forward, how both of them meet and express their love for each other is the remaining story.

4. Memories of Alhambra
Synopsis: After receiving an email about an Augmented Reality game about battles in the Alhambra, Yoo Jin-woo ( Ceo of an Investment Company ) travels to Spain to meet the creator of the game (Jung Se-Joo). He finds that Jung Se-Joo is gone missing and he meets her older sister Jung Hee-Jo. Both get entangled in mysterious incidents as there’s a major glitch in the program that results in real world consequences, and things are about to take a turn for the worse.

5. Angel’s Last Mission: Love
Synopsis: Dan is a mischievous angel who always helps the animals, humans in the real world and gets in trouble. In order to return to heaven he is given an impossible mission of finding a true love for Yeon-Seo, who is a ballerina. She becomes heiress because of her parent’s sudden death. She doesn’t believe anyone as everyone lurks her inherited money. Her distrust and arrogance make herself unable to fall in love. In an unfortunate turn of events he ends up falling for Yeon-Seo himself. This is one of my personal favorites, Do watch it! 🙂

6. Hotel Del Luna
Synopsis: Hotel Del luna is not like a regular hotel. It is a supernatural place where its staff and clients are all ghosts who have unfinished business in their former lives before they pass to an after life. The staff has been there for centuries as they have not settled their grudges. The only human is the hotel General Manager, since they need to interact normally with the real world like paying bills or fulfilling ghosts requests. Jang Man-wol, the heroine, is the owner of the hotel whose soul is bound to the hotel due to a huge sin committed a millennium ago. Chan Sung, the youngest assistant manager ever to work at a multinational hotel, finds himself forced to manage the Hotel del Luna because of a deal his father made with Man Wol years ago.

7. The King : Eternal Monarch
Synopsis: The story is about the son of the king who becomes king after his father’s death. He holds onto a police badge he grabbed from the mysterious figure who killed his father. 25 years later he discovers a parallel world, The Republic of korea where Jeong Tae-Eul is a detective in the Violent Crimes Division at the Seoul Jongno Police Station. Later on he discovers that his nemesis is transferring people from one world to another and making them kill their doppelgangers.
